		<description>Another thing that could have been pointed out more clearly, is the *why* of God&#039;s disciplining actions.  I noted that He disciplines us because He loves us, but to some that may not make sense. 

It&#039;s like this: life is short, but eternity is eternal. 

It&#039;s better to suffer a little now, and let the suffering turn us to God, and therefore spend eternity in heaven, than to have a life that is wonderful, problem free, suffering free, and ... repentance free. For that leads to eternal separation from God.

Actually, there is a big difference between suffering for the Lord and/or encountering &quot;joy producing trials (James 1)&quot; on the one hand, and being disciplined on the other (like when the Israelites sinned and it led to invasion). But that is really a topic for another article.</description>
