Besides, I couldn't resist drawing a parallel between a technical "paradigm shift/conversion" and a spiritual one. I may be willing to go to an iMac seekers group, but that's about it at this point! And when the issue of market share is brought up, it's as if they are saying "the highway to perdition is wide and many travel down it."

1. Congratulations! You are the very first commenter of this blog site, which means you've won a free 1 year subscription to ThruTheSpectacles!! (yeah)

And your being the first is very appropriate, considering the fact that you have been with the process from the beginning, reading my emails, checking my spelling, giving feedback--you even helped me get a developer (too bad he got swamped with his real job).

2. I failed to note that the "money bags" in our house are/were my sons. They went in together and "adopted" the little beasty with all their own money.... not one farthing came from me. I admit that I am rather proud of their accomplishment. They set a goal to get into video production and this was their first big step. They already have 3 semi pro assignments lined up: 2 from me and one from church.

But I'm still not ready to convert!

3. re: "take me the afternoon to read it" and that's .... bad? :-) Hey, this is the TTS web site, here, not some short, pithy, talented reader's emporium. :-)

Very nice...this is my first read.

As for the "invader", yeah, it sure looks like things are going that way....it's about all you ever see in the movies or TV if someone has a laptop on their desk. Yes, they're sexy...but they're still so darn expensive....and still proprietary hardware...even if it is Intel. You'd think they would have learned their lesson by now with their hammering down in market share...but then they did the iPod, so they're back, and now they think they can do the same thing with laptops/workstations. I gotta admit...they do have some momentum going.

Still, since I'm not made of money like you :-) , I can still pursue Linux on commodity hardware, and still make those Mac people envious. If you haven't seen SLED's graphics yet, then you probably wouldn't understand. Wait till I show you! Perhaps at our Monday breakfast!

Good job Brent....even though it did take me the afternoon to read it!
